How do I sign up for an account and how much does it cost?
All accounts are free to sign up.
To sign up for an account click on the
MEMBERS area on the main navigation bar at the top of the page.
What if it doesn’t allow my phone number when I sign up?
Buy Sell & Trade has a collection of area codes and prefixes with their corresponding cities names.
If your area code/prefix doesn’t register, most likely it is because it is not on our list and will give you a
link stating 'Invalid Number'. Either hover your mouse over that link to read the message or click on it to
send us an email. We will get your number on the list and try to contact you right away to let you know and
you may then proceed with your registration.
How do I submit an ad and how much does it cost?
To submit an ad you need to first login to your account. If you do not have an account, sign up for your free
account as per the instructions above.
- Once you are logged in click on
SUBMIT AN AD and enter in all your Ad Details keeping it to 30 words or less.
- In the next box enter the price you are asking for your item, and choose the extension you would like to
appear after your price (i.e. obo, trd, ea etc..). You can choose 'no extension' if you don't want anything to appear
after your price.
- Next choose a category you would like your ad to appear in. If you are considering trades for your
item you can also put it in an additional category called 'Trades' that you will see in the next dropdown menu.
- You can now upload 4 free photos to be displayed with your ad; please be patient while the photos upload,
they may take longer if they are fairly large file size.
- Now you may either click on 'Submit Ad' at the bottom of the screen or if you would like to choose Optional Ad Items
to increase sellability you may do so now, and then choose 'Submit Ad'.
- You will now be directed to the Ad Preview screen, and if everything looks fine to you, then click on Purchase Ad.
If you feel your ad needs changes, click on 'No thank you, I need to make changes'.
- If you have chosen some optional Ad Items such as attention getters, videos, etc.,
you will go through a short checkout procedure, if you had previously chosen to omit the optional ad items,
then your ad will be submitted instantly.
Does my ad go into your print edition of the Buy Sell & Trade?
Yes, all the ads are exported Thursday afternoon to begin building our paper for the following Tuesday.
If you haven't marked your ad as 'sold' in your members area it will be published in the following Tuesday's edition of
the paper. Photo ads will NOT be published in the paper unless you chose to do so in your Optional Ad Items
when placing your ad.
How do I edit, renew, mark it as sold, or delete my ad completely?
Login to your account by clicking on the
MEMBERS link on the main navigation menu.
Then within your members area you will see a list of your ads. Click on the appropriate icon on the right side
of the ad you wish to manage. There is a legend just below your list of ads explaining what each icon means.
I started placing an ad but never finished, is it still there?
If you went far enough into the process, then most likely your ad is still there. Login to your members area
and look at your list of ads you have placed. If any of your ads were not completely submitted
you will see a green check mark to the right of it. Click on that check mark to continue where you left off
while submitting that ad.
What is Early Bird Access (EBA) and why do I need it?
If you want to get access to thousands of ads every Tuesday morning before anyone else does,
then the Early Bird Access subscription is for you. The Buy Sell & Trade paper is not only
filled with ads submitted from the website, but also contains thousands of new ads submitted by phone,
fax and people walking in our front doors to place an ad. These ads are also put online Tuesday morning,
but are only visible to Early Bird Access subscribers. The Early Bird Access program helps us to keep
the paper fresh for those loyal readers who buy it and yet allows online users inexpensive access to another set of ads.
